Kobe Bryant Asks for Trade & Then Recants; Loses Any Credibility that He Had Left!

It’s a Hard Knock Life being Kobe Bryant/AP Speaking of Flip Flopping! Saunders Needs to Get the Pistons Going! Kobe’s Always Mad at Someone or about Something/Getty Images

First he asks for a trade on the Stephen A. Smith show. Then he recants on the Dan Patrick show a couple of hours later that he wants to remain with the Los Angeles Lakers. Besides showing bad taste in terms of who he does radio interviews with, Kobe Bryant once again displayed today why he is such a hard person to like or take at face value.

Kobe, you wanted to be the man in Los Angeles for so long. And now you’ve had your wish and found out that it’s a lot harder to be the man than you thought. Sure the Lakers haven’t done much in surrounding you with talent. But you’re entering your 12th season here and still are as immature as you were when you first entered the league.

While not calling out any teammates by their names today, you’ve basically said that they all suck. Kobe, you must remember one thing. You can’t have it both ways. You can’t be the guy who shoots 40 times and wants to do whatever he wants on offense while being surrounded with slop, and then call out everyone when the season’s over. I mean you sure like to revel in the accolades during the season, and don’t have much to say about the direction of the team then.

This four-day circus about what you said and didn’t say has been ridiculous. Kobe, you’ve always been a spoiled kid who’s relied on excuses and passing the blame on someone else. You’re always involved in some controversy, and most of the time, these incidents are self-created.

Today you ripped the Lakers, an organization that has literally bent over backwards for you, from when you were feuding with Shaq to when you were dealing with rape charges in Colorado. Oh Kobe. You sounded so exasperated today on the radio. What a rough life you live. If it wasn’t for P.J., I don’t know where you’d be right now.

I guess it’s time to paint the portrait of another villain, this time the Lakers. In the end, you’ll stay in L.A. and profess your love for the franchise and your teammates, and say how everything’s been misconstrued. And you’ll do it with Jim Gray fawning at your every word.

Kobe, you’re a fraud and you will always be one. Today was further proof of how much of a joke you truly are. While you may be the most talented player in the game, you are also one of the most detestable human beings in the Association!
