Nick Young vs. the Chicago Bulls Dwyane Wade vs. Bulls Kendrick Perkins vs. the Bulls Maybe I’m taking this Ben Gordon departure a little too hard.

I definitely am.

But I’ve defended Gordon for a long time and will defend the merits of that guy any day of the week.

Still, I don’t like how this whole situation has been handled.

It’s classic B.S. from the Chicago Bulls.

The Bulls haven’t even commented on Gordon’s eventual signing with Detroit (hiding behind the July 8 date when Gordon will officially sign with the Pistons).

But, it appears that the Bulls have made the internal decision to be a defensive team again (according to the Tribune’s K.C. Johnson) after hiring an inept coach who is a wannabe D’Antoni.

It’s one thing to say that you’re going to be a defensive team again, but don’t insult the intelligence of fans who know the game of basketball and see what we see on the court.

The Bulls would have beaten the Boston Celtics if they could have held onto leads and played some defense when it mattered.

Chicago squandered several leads in crucial games that series, including a late six-point lead in Game Two, a double-digit lead in the fourth quarter of Game Five, another double-digit, fourth-quarter lead in an eventual Game Six victory, and an early 10-point lead in Game Seven.

No coincidence, the Bulls lost three of those four games mentioned.

Boston got wherever they wanted whenever they wanted against the Bulls in the playoffs.

By no means was that a defensive series.

It was an offensive shootout, thanks to Gordon playing out of his mind.

For God’s sake, the Bulls made freaking Rajon Rondo look like he was Oscar Robertson because they were afraid to put any pressure on him, sagged six feet off and let him go wherever he wanted.

So, let me get this right. The Bulls are a defensive team again.

Do you know how far this team has regressed defensively since Scott Skiles left?

You don’t need to look at statistics to know that the Bulls haven’t been a defensive team for the last two seasons.

If you want to get into the lane against the Bulls, no worries. The Red Sea will part.

Derrick Rose is a fine young talent, but his defense has a long way to go.

Here’s where I have a problem with the Bulls.

They can spin Gordon’s departure all they want as a return to defense.

But why the hell did you hire Vinny when you could have had Jeff Van Gundy and 78 points a game?

Once again, the Bulls are lying to the fans, covering up the fact that they weren’t going to re-sign Gordon.

That’s fine if that was the decision (even though I don’t agree). Just say it.

Don’t say how much bringing Gordon back is a priority, liars.

Talk about having no regard for your fans.

I don’t know about you, but I’m close to being done with this team, even with the potential of Rose in mind.

Not being negative, but I’m going to refuse to believe that this organization is committed to bringing in Chris Bosh or another stud in 2010.

Nor do I believe that any player with any brains in his head would want to come to Chicago, even with Derrick Rose on board.

This organization freaking pushed out Michael Jordan and is a nightmare to deal with.

There’s a reason we end up with the second-rate free agents like Ron Mercer, Brad Miller and uh…Ben Wallace.

I’ve got the feeling Jerry Reinsdorf’s Bulls are feeding us crap once again.

Here’s guessing the summer of 2010 will be like the summer of 2000, a monumental disappointment.

But, hey, according to Sun-Times writer John Jackson, the Bulls should make a run for Flip Murray to help replace Gordon’s scoring load.

That sounds about right for the Bulls.

Talk about the ol’, giant flip off to your fans.
