STAN VAN GUNDY SHOULD NOT TAKE THE ORLANDO MAGIC JOB

Pat Riley Burned Stan Van Gundy When He Was Head Coach of the Miami Heat! Stan Van Gundy Should Look Elsewhere than the Orlando Magic! Billy Donovan Is a Pat Riley Favorite and Could Burn Stan Van Gundy Too!

So it has been reported that the Orlando Magic has offered its Head Coaching job to Stan Van Gundy after letting Billy Donovan walk from his recently-signed deal to return to the University of Florida. Van Gundy appears ready to take the job. All I can say to Van Gundy is to look somewhere else. Don’t be a patsy again.

Remember how you left the Miami Heat during the midst of their championship season in 2005-2006 for no certifiable explanation. You said that you wanted to spend more time with your family when it was apparent that Pat Riley desired to take over and get all the credit on the sidelines. That terrible Heat team lucked its way to a title, the egomaniac Riley was hailed once again, and Van Gundy was the forgotten man.

Stan, you got jobbed then and you’re going to get jobbed again. I’m sure the Magic and its players are extremely disappointed to have lost Donovan. What makes you think that the franchise is going to have any confidence in you after the Heat and Shaquille O’Neal allegedly had questions about your abilities, even though it wasn’t your fault that Miami blew a lead over the Detroit Pistons with 90 seconds to go in Game Seven of the 2005 Eastern Conference Finals!

Stan Van Gundy is a great coach but not flashy or sexy enough like a Donovan or a Riley. He is just going to be on the short end of the stick in a couple of seasons in Orlando, which is not getting the man that it truly wanted.

With that said, Van Gundy would be much smarter to take a harder look at the Sacramento Kings. He would have a much better chance to succeed there than with the Magic.

That Heat team was not terrible and they didn’t luck their way to any title. They earned it

i disagree. wade was incredible, and surrounded by a bunch of garbage. shaq was pretty nonexistent in the finals, and it was more of the mavs choking in game three and the refs giving it to the heat in game five to win the series. i will give the heat credit, they did play a great game six in dallas, with posey and mourning especially stepping up. the heat truly showed this year that were one of the worst champions of all time as they defended their title for about fifteen minutes before getting destroyed by chicago on opening night. but when you look in the nba history book and see the 2006 champions, it will say miami heat. you can’t take that away from them, even though it makes me want to vomit.

[…] what do I think about this hiring. Sacramento should have made a great offer to Stan Van Gundy before he went to the Magic. Theus is young and raw and will be cutting his teeth on a team that is […]
