Chicago Bulls General Manager John Paxson Squashed the Kobe Bryant Trade Rumors Today

Not only did John Paxson end the Kobe Bryant trade speculation this afternoon and the distractions that it had caused for his Chicago young team, the Bulls General Manager made a very interesting statement.

In describing why the trade talks were off, at least for the meantime, Paxson essentially said that he could not make a deal in which he would have to go to team owner Jerry Reinsdorf and say that it would not have made the Bulls better.

Acquiring Kobe would have made the Bulls a more talented team but not a better one, and this distinction needs to be made.

Kobe Bryant to the Chicago Bulls? Can I Get a Hell Nah!

Kobe Bryant is the most talented player in the game of basketball. He is also the most spoiled and fickle player in the game. So as some ignorant members of the Chicago media (Jay Marrioti once again being included) lament for the Bulls to get Bryant at any costs when there appears to be no talks on the frontline to begin with, Hoops 4 the Soul explains why it would be the worst thing possible.

Isiah Thomas’ Image Took Yet Another Hit Today!

A New York jury found Isiah Thomas liable for sexual harassment today in an ugly case involving former Knicks executive Anucha Browne Sanders, and ruled that team owner James Dolan and his Madison Square Garden empire must shell out $11.6 million in damages.

The question remains how Thomas still has a job in the NBA? While he may have been one of the top 50 players in NBA history, Thomas is also one of the most despicable human beings to ever be involved in the game.

While a two-time NBA Champion with the Detroit Pistons, Isiah Thomas played a cut-throat game straight out of the playgrounds of Chicago’s South Side. Thomas unfortunately carried this playground attitude of anything goes to his post-playing days.

The signs of the true Isiah Thomas were always there during his playing career. While able to cast a smile from ear-to-ear and appear to be happy, go-lucky, Thomas was a monster inside, one of the most manipulative players in the game.

The Bucks Charlie Bell Has Signed a Nice Offer Sheet with the Miami Heat! While being a very solid yet unspectacular college basketball player and seemingly having little prospects of a career in the NBA following his time at Michigan State University, Milwaukee Bucks guard Charlie Bell has signed an $18.5 million offer sheet with the Miami Heat. Looking back at whom Bell played with in the backcourt at Michigan State–superstar college point guard Mateen Cleaves and high school All-American Marcus Taylor–and it’s hard to believe that Bell will have a more meaningful NBA career, that is if the Bucks let him go to Miami. Bell has surprisingly said that he would rather play in Greece than go back to the Bucks after the team allegedly promised to take care of him and failed to do so.

Greg Oden (with hands appropriately on knees) will miss his rookie season due to knee surgery! While he will miss his rookie season with knee surgery, Portland Trailblazers rookie Greg Oden should not be compared to Sam Bowie just yet. Unfortunately, the comparisons between the former Ohio State star and Bowie, the guy forever known as the pick before Jordan, are being made. Some are already wondering whether the Blazers screwed up by not selecting stud University of Texas forward Kevin Durant, who was drafted by the Seattle Sonics with the second pick in this year’s draft. The answers to both of these questions are a simple ‘no’.
