Blake Griffin NBA Draft Lottery Tonight

The NBA Draft Lottery will take place in Secaucus, NJ tonight with teams like Sacramento, Washington and the L.A. Clippers especially hopeful that the ping pong balls go their way and allow them to select Oklahoma’s Blake Griffin with the number-one overall draft pick. In the past few days, I’ve examined the memorable NBA draft lotteries involving Georgetown’s Patrick Ewing in 1985 and Navy’s David Robinson in 1987. 5-19-1989: NCAA Comes Down on Kentucky

Things just keep getting better for the University of Kentucky men’s basketball team as new Head Coach John Calipari has landed the nation’s top-rated point guard John Wall this morning. With five-star freshman recruits Wall, Eric Bledsoe, DeMarcus Cousins, and Daniel Orton arriving in Lexington and center Patrick Patterson definitely returning and guard Jodie Meeks likely coming back next season, Calipari’s Wildcats could be a legitimate Final Four contender. Twenty years ago today, the news was not so good for Kentucky basketball when it was given three years probation by the NCAA for academic fraud and sending money to a recruit.
