Irrelevant, Final Thoughts B4 CHI-BOS 7
Filed Under Analysis/Commentary, NBA, Chicago Bulls | Leave a Comment
OK, this is my final post before the Chicago Bulls and Boston Celtics square off in Game Seven. I’m glad this thing is on TNT as opposed to ABC, and whatever happens when all is said and done, there’s nothing to be disappointed about with the Bulls’ effort in the 2009 playoffs.

Bulls-Celtics Game 7 Keys

Game Seven between the Chicago Bulls and Boston Celtics tips off tonight at seven central time. It’s only fitting that this classic series has gone to a seventh game. As for predictions, I’ll make this proclamation: Game Seven will not go to overtime. With that said, here are the keys tonight for the Bulls pulling the upset and Boston defending its title at least through the first round.

Chicago Bulls History in Game Sevens
Filed Under Analysis/Commentary, NBA, Chicago Bulls | Leave a Comment
Going into tonight’s Game Seven against the Boston Celtics at TD Banknorth Garden, the Chicago Bulls don’t have the best track record in these special games. Chicago is 0-5 on the road in Game Sevens. Of course, winning an NBA Game Seven on the road is no easy task for any team. Michael Jordan never won a Game Seven on the road but did slay the Cavs in a winner-take-all Game Five in 1989. With all this said, let’s throw history out the window tonight as it’s irrelevant. Chicago simply needs to focus on what it can control, that is, stepping up and playing its best game of the series.

What Spring in Chicago Is Supposed to Be

The last time I’ve been this excited and optimistic about more than one Chicago team at this time of the year was 1992, when the Bulls and Blackhawks were on respective routes to the NBA Finals and Stanley Cup Finals. By no means am I being stupid and saying that both teams are going that deep into the playoffs this year as they did 17 years ago. Sure, the Bulls could be done tonight and the Hawks may not get past Vancouver. But hey, it’s exciting to have two young teams doing great things in the playoffs and to have their futures attached to players who seem like great people: Derrick Rose for the Bulls, and Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane for the Hawks.
