Unseen Ray Allen Buzzer Beater in Overtime Ends Great Game
Well it sounded like a great ending to the NBA Game of the Day between the Boston Celtics and Toronto Raptors. With the Celtics leading by three points with seven seconds to go in overtime, Toronto point guard T.J. Ford hit a three to tie the game. After a Celtics timeout, Boston guard Ray Allen hit a three out of the corner as time expired to give the Green and White a 98-95 victory.
Unfortunately, Comcast Boston’s coverage of the game lost its video feed in the final 10 seconds of overtime, leaving us NBA League Pass viewers to listen to the audio. And before the highlights could be retrieved, League Pass cut out once the Celtics sent the game to its post-game studio.
With all the final dramatics considered and despite the fact that the final video wasn’t present, this game was indicative of Boston’s potential with the Big Three while also showing that the Raptors need to get more respect. Toronto is going to be a tough out in the playoffs.

Chicago Bulls versus Milwaukee Bucks: Post-Game Analysis

Milwaukee Bucks 78, Chicago Bulls 72
While getting off to a surprising and disappointing 0-3 start to the 2007-2008 NBA season, the Chicago Bulls have been a step slow on defense and had nowhere to go on offense. Simply put, the Bulls have looked awful on both ends, playing with little energy, urgency or desire as an entire team.

The first all-black professional basketball team, the Renaissance Five, played its first game ever, defeating the Collegian Five 28-22. The subject of much racial scrutiny, the Rens endured on and off the court, winning 88 straight games until a loss to the Original Celtics in 1933 (the team’s only loss to the Celtics in eight games that year) and going 112-7 in 1939! Learn more about the Rens at The Black Fives Blog, the definitive resource for information on this team and other all-black basketball squads from the first half of the 20th century.

Chicago Bulls versus Milwaukee Bucks: Game Preview

What the buck is wrong with the Chicago Bulls? A team that many have has a contender in the Eastern Conference has looked dead in the first two games of the regular season, both losses.
After awful performances last night, Chicago point guard Kirk Hinrich and center Ben Wallace need to be the tone setters on offense and defense, respectively, on the road against the Milwaukee Bucks. So far they haven’t even been close; a disturbing trend early this season to say the least.

Seventeen years ago today, the Minnesota Timberwolves played its first game in the Target Center, which is still the team’s stadium. In a day and age in which stadiums seemingly change names nearly every couple of years, it’s amazing that the Target Center has retained its name since its inception. As the young Timberwolves lost tonight to the Denver Nuggets at the Target Center, the franchise’s former star, Kevin Garnett, issued in the new era of the Boston Celtics in impressive fashion with a 103-83 victory over the Washington Wizards. How fitting that the past and present would be so intertwined tonight!
