Tyrus Thomas and the Bulls Should Have Beaten the New Jersey Nets and the Refs TonightNew Jersey Nets 112, Chicago Bulls 103 OT

If this game tonight wasn’t a microcosm of the Chicago Bulls’ recent struggles against the New Jersey Nets in East Rutherford and the team’s overall problems in closing games with this core, then what is?

Kobe Bryant Was a Crybaby and Hog on the Court Tonight One night does not obviously make a season, but some interesting developments took place on the court tonight during the San Antonio Spurs’ victory over the Portland Trail Blazers, the Houston Rockets’ nail-biter over the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Utah Jazz’ whipping of the Golden State Warriors.

The Phoenix Suns Will Be the 2007-2008 NBA Champions The 2007-2008 NBA season is here. The Eastern Conference has improved considerably, but is still inferior to the Western Conference. The alleged dynasty San Antonio Spurs will not repeat, and Boston’s dream of a 17th championship will not materialize. After years of entertaining, the Phoenix Suns will finally take the next step and get Steve Nash and Grant Hill the championship they so deserve.

Dirk Nowitzki and the Mavs Are Looking to Bounce Back from Last Year’s Disappointment in the Playoffs The toughest division in the NBA, the Western Conference’s Southwest Division features two contenders in the Dallas Mavericks and obviously the San Antonio Spurs. The Rockets are improved with the Luis Scola addition, but this team needs Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady to become competitors. It’s not going to happen with McGrady, and Ming needs to show some toughness this year. The New Orleans Hornets are looking like a playoff team, especially when taking into account the Kobe drama in Los Angeles. The Memphis Grizzlies added a nice player in Mike Conley Jr. but won’t be able to compete in this division.

Steve Nash and the Phoenix Suns Either Do It This Year or Never Do It The Pacific Division of the NBA’s Western Conference is pretty weak with the exception of the Phoenix Suns. Phoenix is a year older and a year wiser with the signing of Grant Hill. Steve Nash has not showed any signs of slowing down, but with his age, Phoenix must get it done this year. It’s a championship or bust for Phoenix. As for the rest of the division, all eyes are unfortunately on the drama that is Kobe Bryant.
